1986 - 1990 New Mexico State University

1990 Bachelor of Accountancy with Crimson Scholar Honors

 

Montgomery Dillavou CPA holds the highest certifications available from Intuit QuickBooks.  It takes 200 points to be a QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor, 800 to be Platinum and 1,600 to be an Elite level ProAdvisor.  Mr. Dillavou has earned 6,050 points.  

 

Career Highlights

1988 NMSU Accounting Tutor “I didn’t realize it at the time, but this was the best thing I ever did to further my career.  In this role I learned how to communicate my craft to those who were struggling with it. I use this experience everyday still.  My ability to simplify complex tax and accounting topics so my clients can understand them is my best professional quality”

1988 - 1990 Comptroller for the Associated Students of NMSU.  Mr. Dillavou managed the largest student body government budget in the country.  Over $750,000. These funds were used to fund the Student Newspaper, NMSU radio station, Special Events, etc.  

1989 - VITA Director - NMSU Location.  VITA - Volunteer Income Tax Assistance.  These IRS approved sites offer free tax preparation to low income individuals.  The NMSU location is particularly challenging because of the number of foreign exchange students who come there.  International tax matters are especially challenging.

1989 - President of Beta Alph Psi- NMSU Chapter, Honorary Accounting Fraternity.

1990 -Ranked as the #1 Accounting Graduate out the the 4 Universities in New Mexico.  He was the only Accounting Graduate who received Job offers from every one of the Big 6 Accounting Firms.

1990 - Starts Career with KPMG as a Staff Auditor

1992 - Earns CPA Certificate

1993 - Transfers to KPMG Tax Department where he becomes a Senior Tax Specialist

1994 - Accepts CFO Position with KPMG client (IMMI)

1995 - Starts his own CPA Firm

2000 - Sells Firm to pursue specialized opportunities in the Public Accounting Industry. Starts and sells e-Controller, an online accounting software support company. Starts the QuickBooks University and the Peachhree University, online accounting software training companies. Starts and sells TeamPowerStream, an online video streaming company specializing in video streaming athletic events. Today this Company is now called ProView Networks and is a leader in its industry.

2001 - Appointed to Peachtree Software Advisory Board

2003 - Opens his own CPA Firm (2nd Firm)

2009 - Travels to Mumbai India at the expense of 3 India Public Accounting firms to train them on U.S. Accounting and Tax Practices

2016 - Honored by the New Mexico Society of CPA’s as a 25 Year Member

Non-Profit Boards Served on: Treasurer for La Cueva Football Boosters. Treasurer for Grace Lutheran Church.

 

Mr Dillavou has 3 children.  He is a avid surfer, snowboarder and Triathlete (He’s completed 8 so far, in 2018 he qualified for and competed in the National Championships in Cleveland, OH).
